Creativity defines my truth.

This particular body of work initiated back in 1990 and throughout the years, has been an evolutionary dialectic. This dialectic has also served as inspiration for other bodies of work I am involved with.

In the early 90’s, I began to witness and experience different kinds of chaos permeate my life and the world.

Someone once said, “Chaos in the world brings uneasiness, but it also allows the opportunity for creativity and growth.” I began recognizing life patterns and discovering that behind apparent randomness and disorder, balance and order were born. In my desire for order, I found myself constantly needing to create. I began learning how to incorporate discipline to channel my ability to articulate and combine expression, research, skills and materials.

Over the years, I have learned to understand that resonating with a piece means an actual experiential shift, a moment of clarity, order and growth, which defines me, and my place in the world.

My thoughts and ideas speak deeply and imaginatively, and continue to be inspired by the correspondence between the human microcosm and its laws of polarity, the systemic impact of urbanism on our planet, and the universal macrocosm. A total visceral experience.

Each piece you see represents a layer of the journey to my center; the cosmos in the chaos; my truth.

Whether you experience the chaos or the balance in my art, it can be as much your own journey and dialogue, as it has been mine.

Description
It seems humanity continues to face disaster after disaster. Whether adversity hits on a personal level or around you…it affects us all in one way or another.
I find that to get through it, I take time to breath, I look for beauty in the smallest things, I pay tribute to the grandeur of nature and admire its splendor at all times possible,
Through this body of work, I seek to find a calm, to be at piece with the world. Using geometry and repeating patterns and finding joy in colors vibrating next to each other, I sort it out…it is what resonates with me…it is what keeps me in balance. In this series, chaos is at its core and finding some sort of joy and structure represents my breath, my coming-up for oxygen.
My overwhelming desire is to represent hope, that little by little, our lives, our spaces, our social structures can be reconstructed, replaced and brought to full life again.

Materials I use:
Stretched canvas, heavy bodied acrylic paints & collage elements such as: glass, dyed fabrics and paper

Body of Work: Coming-up For Oxygen After The Storm
Pollination is severly affected, yet nature continues to prevail somehow. How long will our flowers continue to bloom so that we can exist?
